game changing
aeration
low energy, evenly distributed ,
high OTE, 0 maintenance, no downtime needed.
Our Advantages
High OTE, 0 maintenance
BDP aeration is equipped with game changing self cleaning system. Plants will not require shutdown. Regular automatic maintenance, prevents clogging of aerators, and maintains an extremely high OTE in-situ. The homogeneous aeration and trouble free operation, secures a long life cycle of the aeration system.
Our test result of BDP aerators after one year of aeration operation. SOTE is still 58.64%, which means no reduction of OTE after full year of operations, meaning 100% SOTE retained and no physical change of the aerators condition. BDP average SOTE is 52%, with the highest tested being 58.5%
* SOTE is Standard Oxygen Transfer Efficiency and measured in %/m water depth. These SOTE values are determined in CLEAR water under certain conditions (e.g. in a 6 m high water tank, with a certain temperature, altitude, etc..). Unfortunately these do not reflect the actual conditions (e.g. in wastewater, in aeration tanks, temperature differences, etc..). Furthermore, in reality, after a short time, this SOTE value drops due to clogging etc.
Low energy consumption
The BDP aeration system is equipped with State of the Art Precision Proprietary Aeration Automation System which automatically maintains DO level accurately ensuring efficiency control of energy consumption. The carpet aeration system leaves no room for dead zones and is designed in such a way that the oxygen distribution is even and uniform throughout the mixed liquid solution. Without losses through the coalescence of air bubbles and an upward uniform velocity of 0.4m/s, the residence time is maximized, and enables the bacteria to use the oxygen they need without any losses or surplus. Hence a low measured DO results. The low DO means that the energy losses are minimized, resulting in a far higher rate of energy conversion translating into energy savings.
In addition the BDP system has an automatic self-cleansing methodology which keeps the diffuser pores clean. It also has an innovative diffuser replacement method. For example in wastewater treatment plants, the whole plant does not need to be shutdown if a single row of diffusers needs to be replaced. The BDP Aeration system is energy efficient with lower operational and capex costs.
Small footprint
The special PU diffusers have been specifically designed and are light weight yet with high strength and durability. Over 10 years the replacement rate of diffusers has been only 7% in all of BDP wastewater treatment plants.
The Institute of Marine Environment Technology (IMET) in the US have independently validated BDP aeration technology as being highly efficient. With a high mixing ratio, the dynamic aeration OTE in-situ is 13.2% per meter water depth.
With BDP's high efficiency of aeration, other advantages are a smaller footprint area and therefore lower capital costs.

BDP® - Exceptional Aeration Efficiency
Through studies of active BDP treatment plants and research and development of BDP Carpet Aeration Diffusers, we have gathered the following data demonstrating the system's excellent oxygen transfer efficiencies:
SOTE (at 6m water depth): 48% - 58.5%
Off-Gas Testing OTE (at 6m water depth): 35% - 43%
Off-Gas Testing OTE (at 2m water depth): 15.3%

Easy Cleaning and Non-Stop Maintenance
Non-Stop Maintenance Anti-clogging Operation System
Each BDP Carpet Aeration system is installed with an automatic cleaning feature that automatically cleans out the pores in each diffuser and dislodges foulants or buildup from the surface of the diffusers. Regular use of the automatic cleaning feature helps eliminate fouling, extends product lifetime and increases the oxygen transfer efficiency of the system as a whole. This automated process also eliminates the need to remove diffusers or drain the basin for cleaning or maintenance purposes.
Non-Stop Diffuser Replacement System
In the event of diffuser maintenance/ replacement/ or repair in which a diffuser would need to be removed from the basin, the unique framing, valves and tie-down methods used to install the BDP Carpet Aeration System allows users to completely remove and replace diffusers while the treatment basin is still in operation, meaning no operational down time and no draining to maintain equipment. In addition, the simple design of the system allows a single set of diffusers to be removed in as little as 15 minutes!
BDP aeration system unique feature:
No down time aerator replacement
BDP® - Comparisons of Aeration Efficiency
SOTE is generally an advertising value measured only in clean water laboratory conditions, while OTE is a more practical representation measured in actual operating conditions!
From actual testing results performed by the IRSTEA (French National Research of Science and Technology for Agriculture, Food and Environment) and a US University, results shown in the previous table show that BDP Carpet Aeration Diffusers have a much higher oxygen transfer efficiency (OTE) per unit water depth as compared to a comparable 3rd Party Fine-Pore Polyurethane Membrane Diffuser,* providing a much efficient and more cost-effective solution for our clients.
In addition, BDP Carpet Aeration Diffusers have significantly lower installation and maintenance requirements. BDP Diffusers can be cleaned or removed without costly draining or cleaning operations while competing technologies cannot.
